Why executives join The Proper Group.

You cook the dinner. We run the restaurant.

Most independent executives spend up to 20 hours a week on work nobody pays for: finding clients, proposals, contracts, invoices and chasing payment. We built the front end and back end so you don't have to.

Our sales team works as your agent. When one engagement winds down, the next one is already in motion. You stay present with the client and do the work you're best at.

The model

Meaningful work. Strong peers. Shared upside.

  • Low risk, high reward with limited first-year commitment
  • Sales and marketing support
  • Equity and profit-sharing potential
  • Finder's fee referral program
  • Access to a cross-industry expert network
  • Choose your projects
  • Collaborative community
  • Coaching and growth support

Built for the executives, too

We built the back end and the front end so our executives can stay present with clients. They don't hunt for work, chase invoices or spend 20 unpaid hours a week on admin. Our sales team acts as their agent and lines up the next engagement when they are ready. That's why the best operators choose to work with us, and why our clients get their full attention.

What membership means

This is a Collective, not a directory.

The Proper Group places seasoned operators inside companies as fractional, interim and project leaders. We call the method Collective Leadership: one executive, or a coordinated team across functions, embedded with the client and working toward a planned transfer to permanent leadership.

Most fractional networks are a list. You join, you wait, and maybe someone calls. We built TPG to work the other way.

TPG sells you

Michael, our sellers and the TPG demand engine find a company whose problem fits your experience. We bring you in, run the sale and handle the contract and billing. You do the work.

You bring an opportunity

Someone in your network has a company with a leadership problem you can solve. Bring it to TPG. We help qualify it, shape the scope, price it, sell it with you and administer it, so you are not doing the paperwork alone.

You sell the Collective

You meet a company that needs a CFO, a CRO, a CTO, a Sprint or a whole leadership team, and you are not the right person for it. Bring it anyway. Someone else in the Collective delivers it, and you are credited for opening the door. Next month, another member may do the same for you.

That third path is the difference between a Collective and a list.

Membership questions

What TPG runs centrally

Brand and positioning. Demand generation. A team of sellers. CEO-to-CEO and partner relationships. RFP and institutional opportunities. Productized Sprints. CRM, proposals, contracting and billing. A cross-functional bench of 200 executives. The platform that ties it together.

What we ask in return

Membership is reciprocal. TPG works to sell you, and you help the Collective see opportunities it would never see on its own. Not as a salesperson. As an operator who notices when a company has a leadership problem.

What acceptance means

Being accepted into the Collective is not a guarantee of work. It means you are known, profiled and matchable when the right engagement appears. How often that happens depends on demand, fit and how actively you participate.
